All feed phosphates are not equal in term of quality and digestibility. To be absorbed, feed phosphates need to be solubilized!

This section highlights simple analytics tests which can be carried out in laboratories to evaluate the quality of feed phosphates.

Because feed phosphates are necessary for animal nutrition and animal welfare, the digestibility concepts are also described species by species. Furthermore, specific attention must be paid to impurities like fluorine, cadmium and arsenic. Those undesirable substances must be controlled on a regular basis to provide only high quality feed phosphates for animal nutrition.

At the moment, the only published standard of interest to IFP is the EN 15550 - analysing cadmium and lead with GF-AAS. If you are interested in buying the standard, please click here (Standard EN 15550:2017).
